the leaf fell
and left to wither
in sun and rain.
(moving on)
comes a flood
washing it off
to darkness of sewers,
(a journey)
then to unnamed
rivers, to unknown banks.
upon clay soil,
it’s breaking, melting,
untold and unheard of;
on which a tree stands
shedding off more
