Dagmay Submission Guidelines

Dagmay is the official literary journal of the Davao Writers Guild. We welcome submissions of short stories, essays, poems, and plays from writers who are Mindanao-born or Mindanao-based.

We accept works in English, Binisaya, Tagalog, or any Mindanawon language. (If your work is written in a regional language, please include an English translation.)

Selected works will be published both on this website and in SunStar Davao.

How to Submit

• Email your work to .
• Please paste your work directly into the body of the email (no attachments). Use an empty line to separate paragraphs or stanzas. You may use basic markdown for formatting.
• Use the following format for your email subject line: Title of Your Work [Category]. Example: A Tale of My Three Spinster Aunts [Fiction].
• Accepted categories: Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Play.
• At the end of your submission, please include a short bio (2–3 sentences).

Editorial Process

Dagmay is managed by a rotating team of volunteer editors. Because of this, response times may vary. While we cannot always acknowledge receipt or give a definite publication timeline, we will do our best to communicate with you about your submission.

We cannot offer payment at this time. However, we are deeply grateful to our contributors, whose voices help sustain and grow the literary community in Mindanao.
